Privacy

Wave is a local-first application.

Wave runs entirely on your machine. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of its own. It does not collect analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or usage data, and it makes no network connections on its own.

Your files

Audio you import and the projects you save (.waveproject files) live only on your computer. Wave reads your source files to decode and display them and never modifies them — editing is non-destructive until you explicitly export. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Plugins

When you host a CLAP or Audio Unit plugin, that third-party code runs inside Wave with the same access to your machine as any app. Wave does not send it anything beyond the audio you route through it, but a plugin's own behavior is governed by its developer, not by Wave.
